Psilocybin Therapy Available in Ontario
Psilocybin Therapy Available in Ontario -assisted psychotherapy is increasingly being used in the treatment of serious mental health disorders. It combines traditional psychotherapy and a single dose of a hallucinogenic drug, typically psilocybin or ketamine, with close monitoring by a trained therapist. Several studies have found that this type of treatment can produce profound and long-lasting changes in the lives of patients with depression, chronic pain, alcohol use disorder and other conditions.
The Canadian Psychedelic Association has recently launched a pilot study at multiple sites in Canada to investigate the therapeutic effects of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy. This pilot will utilize the same standardized, therapeutic approach that has been successful in a number of previous studies. Participants will be required to complete surveys at baseline and two weeks after their psilocybin session, and these results will be compared to similar surveys completed by a control group. The aim of the study is to determine if a psilocybin-assisted treatment significantly improves depression symptoms, pain intensity and tolerance, emotional distress, fear of death, quality of life, spiritual well-being, and relationships with family/friends.

The CPA encourages Canadians who are interested in pursuing this option to discuss it with their health care provider. Both clinical trials and the SAP offer established regulatory pathways that include safeguards, access to a quality controlled source of psilocybin, practitioner oversight and more.…
